Dangerous roads. Then or now? Market st San Francisco 1906

I have posted this earlier, but have since found a more recent repaired version. Grab a coffee, crank up the music, double click for a full screen and take 9 minutes to sit back and watch in amazement.

Clearly shows how people, cars and horse drawn wagons went where they liked, regardless of what side of the road it was, and who might be close by.

It might have been 1906, but I wonder what the road toll was?

1935 chev sloper very good car to be restored. Note the car has been started in restoration with alot of new components , all front suspension done new brakes wheel bearings new cables

Engine overhauled , new hubcaps etc come with car also there is a genuine chev clock for the glove box lid.

Nice Looking 28 Tourer from Brazil

I recieved an email from Julio who lives in Brazil and has owned a 28 Chevy Tourer since 1999.

He is doing a complete restoration of the car and asked for some details for the side curtains, which I will be sending him soon.

Below are some shots of his beautiful 28, and even though I am not a big fan of yellow, the finished paint job looks pretty good.

Notice the 4 to 6 inches (150mm) higher back on the rear tub compared to OZ and US models.

The back of the front seat is also higher than the norm, but possibly a bit more comfortable.

1928 Chev Tourer. Vintage.

In great condition.

Full Rego.

Fully rebuilt engine. Done approx 200 miles.

Reconditioned Carburettor. Rays comment "very unorthodox carby set up, not original"

All original. Drives well.

Almost enough spares to build another car.

1927 Chrysler Backboard Roadster. Good condition for age. Engine is complete and turns over freely by hand. Diff good, gear box has issues.

Car is 98% complete. Wood is in reasonable condition. Needs to be rewired. Comes with a spare set of running gear.

A posting can sit on single viewing figures sometimes for a few months, then bingo, it comes to life. Others can rack up 200 views in 48 hours and then go to sleep.

The Red Chev now shares the limelight with other cars and car related topics that all carry the same theme, nostalgia.

Be it a posting with old photos of cars, gas stations, or a snapshot of life from a time long gone, I still find it amazing, fascinating and at times a little eerie.
