Kev's 1928 Chev Restoration - 4th Session

 A very productive 4 hours on a Sunday morning saw the steering reassembled with new tie rod ends and 5 new tyres fitted to the rims.

Each session is seeing less bits on the floor and more on the chassis.

Kev's 1928 Chev Restoration - 3rd Session

 Rear brakes bands internal and external installed along with hand brake linkage.

Steering box stripped and reassembled to elimate binding.

Next session will be replacing a bent Pitman arm and all tie rod ends

Kev's 1928 Chev Restoration - 2nd Session

 Another 4 productive hours on a Sunday Morning.

- Front wheel Bearings and Grease seals fitted

- Front wheels back on after 4 plus years

- Brake cross shafts were a struggle getting the new spherical bushes lined up, a bit of cursing, head scracthing followed by a few precise hammer blows won out on the day.

 The restoration of Kev's Chev started in 2015 and was put on hold from 2017 till January 2022.

The restoration fired up again this morning with Kev and yours truely sorting out everything, and fitting the front brakes and a few linkages.

Red Chev Finally Wakes Up After COVID

 Apart from a few blockies and warm up in the shed every few weeks, the Red Chev kept a low profile during COVID

With an outing today to show a mates daughter the Red Chev for her upcoming wedding I spent yesterday doing a full wash, polish and detail.

Arriving home after the 30K round trip today, there was a small fuel leak in the carby needle and seat.

So after a carby strip down, rebuild with new gaskets and Needle and Seat, all is good.

Finished up with an oil change.
