A Selection of Old Pick Ups (Utes) and Trucks

The following series of photos is from an Aussie site http://ozrodders.com

Before I introduce a series of photos of old trucks and pick ups, may I take a minute to explain why I post them, and what the attraction is.

A good friend of mine from the States, Jerry, who has a beautiful 28 Chev truck

recently made a comment that pretty well sums up how I feel about old cars.

"I see myself in you. We both would adopt every old car and truck left in neglect. It pains me to see these beauties rusting to their death"

While compiling this latest group of photos, which the majority are from down under, I found myself thinking how as a young man some of the classics from the 30's, 40's and 50's had little or no appeal to me.

How wrong was I then to how I feel now!

Being a one car person, and 28 Chev at that, I had little attraction to other Chev models, let alone other makes.

Over the last few years I have developed an attraction for all Chevs from 1916 through to 1936

It may have something to do with a couple of rallies where I was able to touch and feel models that were previously only in a magazine or limited samples in the flesh to view.

Could it have something to do with my mature age, or just an open mind that other makes and models have appeal as well.

The same again for Utes. Never gave them a second thought in my younger days but do now.

If only I had more of an open mind 35 plus years ago when theses vintage and classics were no where near as valuable as they are now.

That's more than enough reminiscing, now for some photos:
