One Nice 28 Chev of Terry and Josie Petridis

Spent an enjoyable few hours with Terry and Josie this afternoon, fellow members of the DVHCC and after a great lunch the task of the day was to refit a water pump to his 28 tourer, that had been modified by a mate of mine Kevin, from Dapto NSW.

The job went pretty well to plan except a minor drip from the bottom bolt, which was soon overcome with a dab of gasket silicone on the thread.

Below is an example of the standard water pump (bottom) and modified water pump (top).

The finished job blends in quite well with the rest of the engine

Next was a test drive to test for leaks, which I am pleased to report was 100% successful. All that was left to do after that was take a few photos of Terry and his pride and joy.

In the next few weeks a radiator overflow tank will be fitted to compliment the modified pump which will give this little Chev 4 a coolant system that will only need water added about every 4-6 months.
