Kev's Chev - Another Aussie 28 Tourer being restored

Very pleased to start a posting on Kev's Chev, a 1928 Holden bodied tourer being restored in the Eastern Suburbs of Melbourne. I meet the car some 7 months before I meet the new owner, and was very happy that the car has ended up with Kevin, who intends to do a full restoration.

Kevin's pre purchase viewing was under a tarp complete with white goods stored in the back seat and a few mice happy to call the Chevrolet their home

Ready to load on the trailer for the trip home.

Home sweet home for the duration of the restoration

Safely stored away in a dry shed.

The Red Chev making a courtesy call to inspect Kevin's new baby

Kevin's father, born in 1923, checking out the new acquisition.

Chev in place, space made in the shed, floor cleaned, let the restoration begin.

 Where do I start?

Off with the doors, guards, running boards and valances

Next to go is the bonnet and radiator

The cowl was removed followed by the remaining body and timber rails , in one piece.

Oh dear, what have I done? This once looked like a 1928 Chev Tourer

All stripped down, ready for the next job to get the chassis soda blasted and painted. After that prepare and paint engine, gearbox and all the bolt on bits. Anyone can pull apart an old car, this is where the work begins.
