Day 45 - 28 Chev Ute Restoration (8th October 2015)

We are back into it after two weekends off putting softer rear springs on the Red Chev, and going to the "Last of The Chrome Bumpers" last Sunday at Lardner Park.

Anyway, planning a big weekend, a run up to Trafalgar to see Grant (Monty the 1928 Chev) Saturday afternoon and sort out a few parts for the ute resto.

Sunday all being well will see the first fresh paint on the restored chassis since 1928. Would do it sooner, but the compressor is a bit noisy at night. Want to keep in the good books with the new neighbors as there are going to be a lot of summer nights in the resto shed.

Pulled out the compressor and spray gun, gave them both a mini service, clean, and then a test drive as they haven't sprayed paint since 2009. All is action stations, ready to go.

In case your wondering about the Red Chev, the change of rear springs has made a major transformation to the ride. No more thumping and banging when I hit anything that's not mirror smooth on the road. In actual fact its a bit too soft, and as the old shockers no longer fit I have to source some new ones. Until then it will be strictly a suburban hack. It has always been too high at the back and is now about 3-4 inches lower......... But the ride is great, and will get better still.
