The present owner passed away before he could finish his 1920 Chevrolet 490 Touring project. For a 490 enthusiast this would not be difficult to complete. The owner spent much money and time locating rare parts and having others reconditioned as you can see from the photos.
The body is an early 1920 model serial #337397. Engine was replaced at one time and is an early 1919 model, #B91723 (stamped into flywheel). Top and seats are near perfect, brand new tires, reconditioned wood wheels and steering wheel, refurbished gauges (they look incredible), new battery and battery box, and paint is good. Many other new and refurbished parts. Cover included.
The purpose of this Blog
This blog is to detail my 50 years (1973 - 2023) with a 1928 Chevrolet tourer, affectionately called "The Red Chev".
The acquisition, restoration, improvements and my experiences over the years are covered in as much detail as I can remember.
Some of the later postings include car club outings and other vintage car items that I hope will be of interest to people.
If you have the time, scroll back to where it all began in 1973 and follow the journey so far.
Thanks for dropping by.
Regards Ray Dean
