The purpose of this Blog

This blog is to detail my 50 years (1973 - 2023) with a 1928 Chevrolet tourer, affectionately called "The Red Chev".

The acquisition, restoration, improvements and my experiences over the years are covered in as much detail as I can remember.

Some of the later postings include car club outings and other vintage car items that I hope will be of interest to people.

If you have the time, scroll back to where it all began in 1973 and follow the journey so far.

Thanks for dropping by.

Regards Ray Dean

28 Ute Project Ready to Start again

After being banished for 2 years of under a tarp around the side of the house the 28 chassis is back indoors sharing the cleaned out garage with the Red Chev.

Hosed off the cobwebs, a few red backs, gave it an air dry then a wipe down with turps.

None the worse for wear and no signs of rust.

As the chassis has been restored, with the hard and dirty work done, its now a case of adding bits and pieces.

Dandenong Valley Historic Car Club display at Bunnings Vermont South

The weather could not have been better for a good turnout of club cars, and being close to home an opportunity for me to fire up the Red Chev and attend my first club event for some time.

While the Chev has been off the road, apart from weekly start ups, it hasn't had much loving appearance wise, so it took me a good hour or more to clean and wash.

Great day
