The purpose of this Blog

This blog is to detail my 50 years (1973 - 2023) with a 1928 Chevrolet tourer, affectionately called "The Red Chev".

The acquisition, restoration, improvements and my experiences over the years are covered in as much detail as I can remember.

Some of the later postings include car club outings and other vintage car items that I hope will be of interest to people.

If you have the time, scroll back to where it all began in 1973 and follow the journey so far.

Thanks for dropping by.

Regards Ray Dean

Day 7 - 28 Chev Ute Restoration (16th May 2015)

Not a great deal of work to report as I have been laid low this week with a cold or whatever, but........... things keep moving.

First was the preparation of the tank for the molasses bath.

Then I was lucky enough to pick up a very good rear end from Geelong which has almost perfect axle key ways, compared to the worn ones on the ute. A bargain at $50.

And last of all was a chassis that a follower of my blog, Kelvin Lewis, delivered from Ballarat. This is in a lot better condition than the accident damaged ute chassis, and will save a lot of restoration work. Thanks Kelvin, much appreciated.
