The purpose of this Blog

This blog is to detail my 50 years (1973 - 2023) with a 1928 Chevrolet tourer, affectionately called "The Red Chev".

The acquisition, restoration, improvements and my experiences over the years are covered in as much detail as I can remember.

Some of the later postings include car club outings and other vintage car items that I hope will be of interest to people.

If you have the time, scroll back to where it all began in 1973 and follow the journey so far.

Thanks for dropping by.

Regards Ray Dean

Croydon Hills Mens Shed Annual Car Show 2017

The weather could have been better for the Croydon Hills Mens Shed Car show, but luckily as the day went on both the weather improved as did the crowd

Another good spread of cars, from veteran right up to the latest Mustang and Holden HSV ute.

Many thanks to the organizers for a very enjoyable day.

There were 3 awards for the day, 2 peoples choice and the Presidents selection.

The peoples choice for the best presented car went to the Red Chev.

The peoples choice for the coolest car went to a black Lotus

The Presidents trophy for the most unique car went to a veteran

Very pleased to see another well presented 28 Chev

Apart from the Lotus, possibly the most valuable car that attended, a Kombi?

This EH had the most beautiful engine bay I have ever seen, no chrome shortage here. A credit to the owner.

12 months on from the last show, the owner of this Tesla is still very happy with his purchase.

I nearly bought one of these pocket rocket Mazda R100's back in the 70's. Probably just as well I didn't
