The purpose of this Blog

This blog is to detail my 50 years (1973 - 2023) with a 1928 Chevrolet tourer, affectionately called "The Red Chev".

The acquisition, restoration, improvements and my experiences over the years are covered in as much detail as I can remember.

Some of the later postings include car club outings and other vintage car items that I hope will be of interest to people.

If you have the time, scroll back to where it all began in 1973 and follow the journey so far.

Thanks for dropping by.

Regards Ray Dean

Some More Gas Stations From The Past (Any Memories)

Its like a fairy tale, once upon a time, a long long time ago, men would walk out to your car, fill up the gas tank, clean the windscreen, lift the hood, check the oil and water, and then check the tyres.

I am 58 and can still remember all this activity while my father and I sat in the FB Holden (1961).

Then self service petrol came along, and that was going to save us all time and money. Are we better off, or where our parents better served by gas stations in the past. We will never know, well ??????

Any way here are a few pictures from those long gone days, and you know the older I get the words "The Good Old Days" sound more appealing.
