The purpose of this Blog

This blog is to detail my 50 years (1973 - 2023) with a 1928 Chevrolet tourer, affectionately called "The Red Chev".

The acquisition, restoration, improvements and my experiences over the years are covered in as much detail as I can remember.

Some of the later postings include car club outings and other vintage car items that I hope will be of interest to people.

If you have the time, scroll back to where it all began in 1973 and follow the journey so far.

Thanks for dropping by.

Regards Ray Dean

A Few Chevs From Up Hamilton way (Regional Victoria)

Peter from Hamilton is helping his 17 year old son restore a couple of Chev trucks, including a 1929.

This truck in this first picture is the restoration project. They hope to get it on the road after they remove the home made cabin and fit a more original one from another truck.

Peter says they were lucky with this truck as it has the cast spoke front and rear wheels, good side steps and a cowl. They intend to strip her down, repaint the chassis, suspension wheels etc before fitting the motor.

They would like to have it back on the road within twelve months.

I am sure you will all join me in wishing them well on their "adventure".

This picture is the truck they originally dismantled to restore before they found a better one.

The following pictures are other Chev's they have come across in their travels. I think Hamilton must be a happy hunting ground for old Chev trucks.
