The purpose of this Blog

This blog is to detail my 50 years (1973 - 2023) with a 1928 Chevrolet tourer, affectionately called "The Red Chev".

The acquisition, restoration, improvements and my experiences over the years are covered in as much detail as I can remember.

Some of the later postings include car club outings and other vintage car items that I hope will be of interest to people.

If you have the time, scroll back to where it all began in 1973 and follow the journey so far.

Thanks for dropping by.

Regards Ray Dean

Australia's Own Car. The Holden. A few unloved 1948 to 1964 models.

The following series of photos is from an Aussie site http://ozrodders.com

How many of us learned to drive in a Holden.
Me.

How many of us grew up in either a Holden or Ford household.
Me

How many of us could recite the full model range from FX all the way through to WB
Me

How many of us followed the brand right through our child hood, teenage years, and adult life.
Me

We all knew that Holdens were made by General Motors, but we adopted the localy made Holden as our car.

Recently I found a few photos of some poor souls that have seen better days, some may be salvageable, others need nothing more than the last rites.

But beauty is in the eye of the beholder, or should I say the fanatic.
