The purpose of this Blog

This blog is to detail my 50 years (1973 - 2023) with a 1928 Chevrolet tourer, affectionately called "The Red Chev".

The acquisition, restoration, improvements and my experiences over the years are covered in as much detail as I can remember.

Some of the later postings include car club outings and other vintage car items that I hope will be of interest to people.

If you have the time, scroll back to where it all began in 1973 and follow the journey so far.

Thanks for dropping by.

Regards Ray Dean

A Few 1928 Chevs Needing Some Tender Loving Care

If only this chev badge could tell us its life story, what a tale it would be.

You did say to dip the headlights, yes?

Looks very complete

Apart from lacking a body from the dash back, the front looks pretty good

One sad and sorry hardtop, or at least it was

Engines look fairly complete and startable?

Interesting moulding on the sidewall

Looks a bit terminal

The remains of a 28 Truck

Pleased to say this one is on the way back to good health

Looks like an older resto being brought out of storage

Is that a 29 hiding under the tree

No, its a 28 sedan chopped down to a tourer at some stage.

Check out the rust in that front chassis rail. The worst I have seen.
