The purpose of this Blog

This blog is to detail my 50 years (1973 - 2023) with a 1928 Chevrolet tourer, affectionately called "The Red Chev".

The acquisition, restoration, improvements and my experiences over the years are covered in as much detail as I can remember.

Some of the later postings include car club outings and other vintage car items that I hope will be of interest to people.

Great Looking 1927 Chev Tourer

UP FOR SALE IS MY 1927 CHEVROLET CAPITOL TOURER. HAVE OWNED FOR LAST SEVEN YEARS AND HAS BEEN ON MANY CLUB RUNS. HAS BEEN IN STORAGE FOR THE LAST TWO YEARS AND IS NOW RUNNING A BIT ROUGH, CAR WILL START BUT COUGHS AND SPLUTTERS A BIT, I AM SURE IT IS JUST IN NEED OF A GOOD TUNE UP AND SOME TLC FROM SOME ONE WITH A BIT OF KNOWLEDGE.

CAR WAS RESTORED ABOUT 15 YEARS AGO IN A FULL BODY OFF RESTORATION, CAR IS STILL IN GREAT CONDITION, TYRES ARE ALL GOOD AND A BRAND NEW SPARE TYRE, NEW BATTERY FITTED ALL SIDE CURTAINS, STILL RUNS ON SIX VOLT SYSTEM AND ORIGINAL VACUMM TANK.

PANELS ARE ALL STRAIGHT, INTERIOR IS VERY GOOD CONDITION, PAINT WORK HAS CRAZED IN TWO SMALL SECTIONS BUT OVERALL VERY GOOD.

ALSO HAVE WORKSHOP MANUAL, SPARE DIFF AND TORQUE TUBE, 2 SPARE GEARBOXES, ENGINE BLOCK AND A FEW VARIOUS OTHER PARTS.

ONLY SELLING DUE TO LACK OF USE AND THE NEED FOR MORE OF A FAMILY CAR.
THIS REALLY IS A GREAT CAR FOR CLUB RUNS AND RALLYS AND BECOMING HARDER AND HARDER TO GET IN THIS CONDITION.

ANY INSPECTIONS WELCOME AND QUESTIONS ANSWERED AS BEST AS POSSIBLE.
